A day at one of the few European tea plantations

Today we visit one of the few European tea plantations.
Here we were able to directly support the production.
Here you can see a big screen
Well Paul, the packers probably make tea break

This old  tea dring oven is already no longer in use
But it is a beautifull one.
We also had the opportunity to taste some tea
Hans, there still lacks some sugar
Yes, but please stir well...
The tea fields in the Azores are not very large, but unique for this!

We visit the Parque Terra Nostra

Today we visit the Parque Terra Nostra.
 A beautifully maintained landscaped garden
Here in the park, there are a lot of lush vegetation

Here we are at the hot springs of Furnas - Paul, that stinks of rotten eggs...
In earlier times the islanders have cooked their food.
Today is usually cooked only for tourists.
Hey Hans, there is enough building material to build a raft. With the raft we can sail home...

A day trip to Terceira

Today we travel by boat to the island of Terceir. Here we are sitting by the harbor and wait.
From the harbor we have a great view of the city of Angra do Heroismo. It is the capital city of Terceira.
Our first way was in to the city center. There we visited the beautiful Sé cathedral
The steps were very high for such little travelers.
But at the end we made it.
Close to the harbor we found this lovely little church called Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Piedade
In a cheese factory we got a coffee before we went back to our hostel.
We loved this view over the blue calm sea.

A night on Ilha do Faial

Tonight we went for a short walk in Horta
For this purpose we explored the waterfront...
...and found ourselves in Peter Café Sport agai. Chek it out on https://www.facebook.com/petercafesport ore  http://www.petercafesport.com/?lang=EN
With a gin-tonic we could enjoy the evening. The gin-tonic here is best of the world and is the drink of the house. This bar is very popular with both tourists and world travelers.
The gin makes Hans drunk under his hat! For today reaches one.
Paul has finally figured out why it sounds familiar to the place ... Before we sleep we quickly made a memory photo...
 Good night!

We arrived on the island of São Miguel

Our first destination was Caldeira Velha (in Englisch Steam boiler) This is a very cozy hot spring. Inside this hot spring we could forget the stress of traveling and relax a bit.
It made us very great fun to climb up to the overgrown stones.
Once at the top we jumped with joy in the warm wate.
In the warm waters of the hot springs you can stand it for hour...

To get dry again we rested for a while on the rocks above the hot spring.
